Paulina Quintana Dresses

I had no idea that Paulina Quintana had expanded their children's line so much. They now make beautiful smocked dresses for little girls, with bold floral print and ties on top. You can find this and lots of PQ wear at Modern Seed. Their clothing department has grown quite a bit too. The dress is going for $42.

4th of July clothes

Some people buy clothes for every single holiday like I do, and this post is for them.

The 4th of July is right around the corner and the themed clothing is already coming out. Janie and Jack has their "Perfect Picnic" line out now with a red, white, and blue theme. I especially like the shirt above.

The coolest seat in the house

Tired of that booster chair that won't hook on right? Sick of looking at your highchair? Unhappy your child can't reach the table in an adult seat?

Why not just get a ducduc table!?

Modern baby company ducduc has designed a table for familes, the first ever of it's kind. The table comes with booster seat and high chair additions that attach to the benches next to the adults. The table is made up of panels that are moveable and come right up to the baby. The table panels also flip over and have a walnut wood stained side and a whiteboard side.

The bench cushions are made with a stain, water, and bacteria resistant fabric called Crypton.

Flo

Meet Flo. Flo is your child's new best friend at bathtime. And maybe your's too.

Flo is a unique device that fits onto your bath faucet, functioning as a safety protector and as a way to divert water into your child's very own waterfall. The waterfall makes hair rinsing more easy and more fun for the child. Flo also functions as a bubble bath dispenser that children can also operate. Really cool, huh? Available at Sparkability.

Brad Pitt and unknown baby carrier

I can't find this carrier anywhere! I've checked all the major sites and I don't see it. Does anyone know the brand of baby carrier he is using? Here is the bigger picture.

Take a look and see. If anyone knows, drop me an email.

Tiny Tillia

Tiny Tillia was created by Tiffany Lerman, founder of Chester hangbags and the adult cosmetic company Tillia. Tiffany wanted to make an all-natural and hypo-allergic bath and body line for babies, as well as adults, that looked as pretty on the outside as it did on the inside. Each bottle as a result is decorated with designs that range from sweet flowers and charming stripes to exotic jungle florals. No pharmacy look here! Tiny Tillia is avaiable at Intuition.

Too much Britney

Too much Britney this week, but I had to post this. A girl named Laura has put up several images of Britney and her Gymboree love on her website. The photos display Sean dressed in various outfits from the store, as well as details on what collection they came from. Britney sometimes likes to mix and match it seems.

*site update* It has come to my attention that our website has serious html issues. I am in the process of totally redesigning it, so except some major changes soon.

Britney's Latest Carseat Woes

Britney Spears is in trouble again I guess. Apparently this latest picture shows Sean in a front facing carseat, when in fact California's law says a child must be one year old and 20lbs before they ride forward facing and not rear facing. A lot of people (well, bored and judgemental people) are using this as yet another reason to dog Britney. I instead would like to use this incident to educate people.

I used to work in baby retail. I sold carseats and I know for a fact that currently The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that eight out of 10 child safety seats are installed incorrectly. This means you. Not just Britney.

Most people don't do it right. They either don't know the laws in their state (which change without notice) or they simply read the directions about weight on the label of the carseat and assume that when their child outgrows the seat, then they move on. What they don't know though is that the label on the seat might not match their state's laws.

Most rear facing seats go to 20lbs. But many children are 20lbs before one year old, and many states currently require that children remain rear facing until one year old (like California). But many Infant-Toddler carseats say on the label that you can use them forward facing at 20lbs, no mention of the one year limit. This can be quite confusing. If it helps any, most seat brands and states are switching over to the 1 year AND 20lbs rule for rear facing seats.

Also, a lot of people don't place the harness straps tight enough around the baby, another problem Britney seems to have. You should always place the harness straps at or below the baby's shoulders and the chest clip at the infant's armpit level to secure harness straps.

And of course you never, ever place a carseat in the front seat with an airbag, but I assume most people are smart enough to know that one. However, many people may not know that is it also reccomended that you do not use added accessories on carseats that may restrict them from acting as they should.

To find out if your child's seat is installed correctly and what your state's current laws are, you can go to a NHTSA-certified inspection center in your area. They have addresses on their website.

I really should have gone to the fair

I should have skipped work and gone to the JPMA fair in Orlando. I know this now.

Here's yet another one of the cool new products that debuted there. The Fleurville Calla High chair was designed as a break away from traditional Scandinavian-style wood furniture. And yes, that's Fleurville as in the diaper bag people. Apparently they are expanding their line this year. See more of the Calla at the upcoming ICFF fair in New York next week.

Britney shops at Jacadi

Just before she announced on David Letterman that she is offically pregnant again, Britney Spears was seen shopping in NYC with son Sean at the trendy baby store Jacadi. Britney Boards has a bunch more pictures up of the two. Lots of cute stuff, including Britney making a purchase with her exclusive American Express card (the vip one) and lots of cute pics of Sean.

Sean appears to be modeling a blue Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Hoodie.

Gwen Stefani's Baby Shower

Gwen Stefani had her second baby shower last Saturday. The party took place at her home in Los Feliz, CA and included many famous guests. One of those people was Christina Aguilera, pictured above carrying her gift for Gwen. The gift is a wrapped up Fleurville Mothership diaper bag in Houndstooth, along with a See Me Smile panda mirror. I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can see. You can purchase these things at Babystyle.

New Gear Guide

No posts this weekend, due to my work on the gear guide. I wanted to make it more professional looking and also add another blogad strip to it. There are not ads up yet on the gear guide, and it's a bit cheaper in there than on the main site so check it out if you have a store. The gear guide now has it's own address at www.babygear101.com

*Coreection* Blogads are on every page now, so your ad will appear through out the sites(except in image files using java).

Also, soon we will be starting a "Find a store near you" subsite in which upscale retail baby stores will be listed by location.

New Svan Bouncer

Svan now has a bouncer! And yes, it comes in more colors.

Svan is all set to debut their newest addition next week at the JPMA show in Orlando. Sadly I can't attend, but I can tell you about the bouncer. It's made for babies from birth to 30 lbs and adjusts to several different levels that allow the baby to both lay down and sit up. It also folds up for travel and the fabric is machine washable. Sounds like a great piece of baby gear.

No word yet on when it will be available in stores, but I should hear soon and I'll edit this post when I do.

Bunnies By The Bay

Another awesome booth at the Silver Spoon Dog and Baby Buffet last week was created by a company called Bunnies By The Bay. BBTB makes all kinds of cute animal-themed clothing and accessories for babies. I especially love their little Bunny Coat for girls. A store near me in Louisville, Rabbit in the Moon, carries their entire line and it's so lovely. Check out their online store if you get a chance. They have some great gifts.

Katie Holmes recently recieved several items by BBTB as a gift.

Little Showoffs

Little Showoffs had one of the cutest booths at the Silver Spoon Dog and Baby Buffet last week. Celebrity moms such as Shanna Moakler and Tia Carrere stopped by to pick up some baby tees during the event, which benefited animal rescue. Little Showoffs makes baby clothing featuring fun expressions such as "Brand New" and "Twin A" and "Twin B".

Gwyneth Paltrow also loves their organic line and bought some stuff for Apple.
