Medela Freestyle

We recently reviewed Medela's newest breastpump, the Freestyle, and here is what we found. If you have never heard of the Freestyle, it's the first rechargeable, hands-free, double-electric breastpump ever made. Sound cool? Well it is. It weighs less than a pound but is still powerful enough to empty both breasts simultaneously. And of course, it is hands-free. So you can type on your computer, talk on the phone, or do whatever you need to do while pumping.

So how does it work? The pump comes with bra adapters and straps that connect the pump to most nursing bras. Medela actually has a video on their site that shows you how to this. Once the pump is attached, you simply turn it on and there you go. No need to sit there and hold it on your breasts.

There's also a waist belt that allows the tiny pump itself to be clipped on to you, so you can get up and walk around while pumping. And now let's talk about the pump. It's got a light-up screen that's perfect for pumping in the dark at night. It's got a rechargeable battery that allows for 3 hours of pumping time per charge. It's got a memory button that allows mom to save her favorite pumping pattern for ease and efficiency for the next pumping session. It's got a built-in timer, a battery symbol to let you know how battery you have left, and screen display of the level you're pumping at.

And of course it has Medela's Phase Expression technology that mimics a baby’s natural nursing pattern and empties both breasts in about 15 minutes. All that and it ways less than one pound. Pretty amazing. And if you don't believe us, read about it over at BRU where's currently at a 5 Star Rating in the reviews.

It has full recline, compact fold, and allows a car seat to be attached. The stroller includes a rain cover, a boot cover, a front bumper bar, and adjustable handle.

It also comes in a twin. You can put a car seat adapter on one side.

The Matrix will be out in March. It's got a three position lockable swivel wheel, an unlimited EZ recline system, a mesh airflow seat, a compact fold, a link brake system and a bassinet attachment(although that's sold separately).

Valco also has a highchair coming out but there isn't a set date for it yet. It converts into a booster seat.

Bloom 2009

Bloom has some neat stuff for 2009, but before you get your hopes up....the first few pictures may not be made :( They are currently deciding on rather or not to produce the gold, silver, and green versions of the highchair and bouncer. I told them to do it. I think they look cool.

The Dina is Bloom's newest highchair and it folds up completely, as you can see. Colors will include red, white, green, and black. Look for it at the end of the year.

Bloom also has two new cribs that will be out by the end of the year, although I didn't catch their names. The last one, like the Dina, totally folds up.
