The Bugaboo Donkey hits the stores

Giggle is holding a special launch event at their SoHo store in NYC tonight for the Bugaboo Donkey. I wanted to go SO BADLY but I couldn't get to New York to this week. But the strollers will be available tomorrow, assuming they aren't sold out. You can preorder a Donkey at Bel Bambini now as well. Selma Blair - First US celeb iCandy spotting

Growing Your Baby has pictures of mom-to-be Selma Blair pushing the new iCandy Peach stroller. The UK brand just released this model in the USA at the start of March.

Summer Infant buys BornFree

Baby gear company Summer Infant has acquired top-selling BPA-free baby feeding brand BornFree. This will be Summer's first go at the baby feeding category. They currently sell nursery, health, gear, bedding, furniture, travel accessories and safety items.

Some new stuff

Bugaboo has a new stroller organzier, which will be available in May. It can be used on any of their strollers, including the new Donkey. They also have some new Sun Canopies for the Cameleon and the Bee. All of the Bee colors are out now and the Cameleon is available in Tangerine now and I believe the other two will be added shortly. Stokke will have a pink Xplory out in May. It is only available until it sells out.

New Bugaboo Donkey Daily Life Movie

Bugaboo has released another youtube video on the Donkey, this one called the Daily Life. It shows parents how the Donkey works outside in the real world on trips to the grocery, hiking, stairs, and cafes.

The Cybex Callisto

Recently, we tried out my friend's brand new Cybex Callisto (this is the new 2011 one) and it was a great stroller experience. First off, it was a breeze to put together. This is important because I have spent hours on other strollers and this one took less than ten minutes. Basically it came like this: And after adding the wheels, unfolding it and pulling the paper off, we had this whole stroller. The seat cushion is extra soft and thick and the canopy is just huge. My favorite part though is the metal frame that supports the under-the-seat basket. That of course keeps stuff inside from dragging across the ground. Folding was easy, as was locking the wheels. The Callisto has some great, thick knobs for this. The carrycot is great. It basically came put together and only required a part below the mattress to be locked into place. The clips to attach it to the stroller are very easy to use as well. In order to attach the carrycot, you must remove the seat. This is actually very easy to do by pulling two tabs under the seat out. They are connected to the stroller on each side rail. Once the seat is off, the attachments and the carrycot fit right on. The carrycot has a great mattress. It's very thick and comfortable. The hood is also very large, just like the stroller. It's not all the way extended in this photo though, as there wasn't a great deal of sun. The tester really enjoyed the benefit carrycot as opposed to her regular car seat attached to her other stroller. She thought her son slept better in this as he was able to stretch out and not be belted into a small space. This also led to less gas, which is always a good thing. Lots of celebrity parents love Cybex too. In fact, it's a brand that is growing in popularity in Hollywood. This past year, the Cybex was seen quite a bit.

Orbit Baby increases weight limits for car seats

Orbit Baby announced today that through additional testing on our Infant Car Seat G2 and Toddler Car Seat, the upper weight and height limits have officially increased. For the G2, the weight range for your baby is now 4-30 lbs and 19-32 in. For the Toddler Seat, 15-35 lbs rear-facing, and 20-65 lbs and 50 in forward-facing. This applies to ALL Orbit Baby car seats, past and future. It is not a new product, just a change to already existing products. Orbit is also offering to send stickers with the new weight limit to people who own models already. See their site for details.

Mariah's baby shower

Mariah Carey's baby shower took place yesterday, with a pink and blue theme. TooFab reports that the singer had a party hosted by her publicist Cindi Berger, her manager Louise McNally and Stefano Zagni of Angel Champagne. Gifts from her gift registry included a $2,000 custom-made bedding set for a crib, a $350 custom-made car seat cover and a $1,200 giraffe. Her registry was at Gaga Designs.
